Pool & Spa Operation

Heater: The pool is heated and runs on a scheduled timer from 8AM-4PM set at 81 degrees and the hot tub is set at 95 and heats from 4PM-8PM. We control the temperature remotely and can adjust it so please simply request it through the AirBnB or VRBO app and we can do so. There is a tablet mounted on the right hand side of the fridge that should allow you to adjust the temperature yourself, but we warn that the auto-updates from the iAquaLink app are irregular and can be frustrating. Just let us know if it’s not working and we can help remotely.

Serviced Weekly: We have a pool service that comes weekly, usually on Mondays, to do a thorough cleaning and will sometimes adjust the necessary level of salt. If there is any reason you would need to wait for the salt balance to even out (usually within 60-90 minutes) the service rep will tell you.

Cleaning In Between: Recognizing that the combination of Florida wind and our greenery can cause leaves to enter the pool we have supplied a telescoping pole for surface level debris and a cleaning robot to get anything on the bottom. The robot is very easy to use as you just need to plug it in, drop it in the pool, let it sink to the bottom, and press the single button on the control panel. A cycle usually takes about two hours and leaves it in good shape, please just clean out the filter when you are done using it. See this video for help. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y12CuzMpa1Y

Cold Weather & the Pool Heater: One last note…it’s extremely rare for the temperature to drop below 55 degrees in Tequesta, but on rare occasion it does so. When the temperature is that low our heat pump will struggle to keep the heat of the pool and hot tub up. It’s only occurred three times in the five years we have owned our house, but it does happen.
